Slip.stream, a music startup that sells a subscription service for digital creators looking to soundtrack their content, has entered into partnership with Riot Games. The deal will see Slip.stream distributing Sessions: Diana, a new instrumental album from Riot Games’ League Of Legends franchise.

U.S. Publishing Industry Up 13.7 Percent Year-to-Date
In its October 2021 StatShot report released December 6, the Association of American Publishers (AAP) cites total revenues across all categories up 23.1 percent over October 2020, the first year of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Year-to-date revenues, the AAP reports, were up 13.7 percent at US$13.1 billion.

Universal Movies Could Hit Peacock as Early as 45 Days After Theatrical Release
Following suit of its rivals, streamer Peacock said Thursday that most feature films from sister company Universal Filmed Entertainment Group could debut exclusively on Peacock as early as 45 days after their theatrical release. The big caveat: Event pics including next year’s Jurassic World and Minions installments, or Christopher Nolan’s 2023 film, aren’t expected to be part of the 45-day crew.

Music NFT platform MusicFx launches with country star Parker McCollom
Blockchain platform provider CurrencyWorks has launched MusicFX.io, a new music NFT platform in partnership with music entrepreneur collective Crown & Ace. CurrencyWorks has already established platforms to serve the growing demand for digital token services and collectibles including film-focused VUELE and Motoclub, a digital automotive collectibles site.

Imagine Launches Audio Division With iHeartMedia Podcast Slate Deal
Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine will enter the podcast space thanks to an expansive audio slate deal with iHeartMedia. “We couldn’t be more excited to have iHeart as our partner as we launch the Imagine brand into the audio space,” said Wilkes. “Audio has proven to be a fantastic incubator and engine for IP development and… we’re incredibly well positioned to enter the category.”
