Diplo is latest artist to let fans buy shares in his streaming royalties 

Royal, co-founded by Justin Blau, aka musician and producer 3LAU,  has revealed that Diplo is the next artist to team up with Royal to sell shares in his streaming royalties. Diplo will release Don’t Forget My Love, the first single from his recently released self-titled album on Royal, on Tuesday, March 29 at 6pm ET / 3pm PT.

Some Museums Are Cashing In on NFTs

At the moment, the market is relatively small. Publicly funded galleries are wary of cryptocurrencies, and, for those immersed in that world, digitalized old art doesn’t have the speculative cool of “native” NFTs, like CryptoPunks or Bored Apes, which can sell for millions. As yet, no museum NFTs have achieved attention-grabbing profits on resale platforms, such as OpenSea.

‘Free’ music streaming grew faster than paid streaming in 2021: IFPI

Ad-funded streaming platforms (including video services) generated $4.6 billion in 2021, according to IFPI numbers. That was up 31% year-on-year (versus $3.5bn in 2020), representing an annual increase of $1.1 billion. Not bad for a section of the market many still refer to as ‘free’ streaming, which includes the freemium tier of Spotify, plus YouTube‘s video ads business.
