Recorded music consumption in the UK grew by 4.3% in 2022

British music industry body the BPI has published its annual figures for recorded music consumption in the UK, which grew by 4.3% in 2022. The BPI’s figures show that the number of ‘album equivalent sales’ – a metric that uses a formula to blend streams with sales of digital and physical music – was 166.1m last year, up from 159.3m in 2021.
