Integrating TikTok data with data on Xbox users could yield a very valuable resource and would allow Microsoft to play a role in the entertainment and consumer brands industries more akin to its comfort-zone positioning in business services — as a provider of data analytics and cloud computing resources, without having to take on Google and Facebook directly and at a bargain-basement price.
