Having raised $12.5m to date, Stem quits DIY distribution to focus on ‘top performing artists’

Stem is branding this pivot as ‘Stem Direct’, which it calls ‘a concierge member service to support our top talent’. However, this also means that non-‘top performing artists’ – ie. the majority of the tens of thousands of DIY acts currently using Stem – are being asked to kindly vacate the platform.
