The Media Industry and the “Make-Google-Pay” Fantasy

Publishers themselves fostered the snippets/link sharing industry by allowing RSS Feeds. Blinded by the idea of traffic-at-all-costs, they profusely distributed their content through RSS Feeds, in many cases giving the full text of articles. In doing so, they contributed to the creation of the aggregation industry, entirely initiated by data-driven, agile digital natives.
